Coming of a second consecutive dominating performance, the league has divided into upper and lower tiers and The Ride is looking to come out strong in game 1 of the new season. The Ride finished second in the league in qualifying, losing out on first place by percentage points to Those Bros.
Last week The Ride took down Tune Squad by a final count of 66-27. It was an dominating defensive effort as The Ride generated 17 steals, led by Ad with a team high 7. The pressure at the top of the zone continued to pay dividends as Syed, Ned and Brushey all had 2+ steals. The outside shooting was vastly improved as The Ride shot 34% from 3 as a team, led by Syed who turned his 5 of 10 from 3 into a team leading 17 points. BA finally returned to his dominant self on the inside adding 17 of his own on 67% shooting from the paint.
This week The Ride meets a first time top-tier team in Lakeshore Boat Services who are in the upper division thanks to a week 1 forfeit. LBS is 3-2 with wins against The Shmos (68-57), BBB (49-47), and Hoopdome Heat (forfeit) and losses against HD1 (59-34), and BHB vol 7 (51-48). LBS is a bottom feeder in the top league by sheer luck and should present very few challenges to The Ride.
Ned is doubtful with NN/FNI
Prediction: The Ride 68 - LBS 34
