Summer 2018 Game 2 (1?) Preview

Updated: May 4, 2018

Fresh of a disappointing Winter season, The Ride returns to action one week delayed.

After having their season delayed a week due to a forfeit, The Ride debuts their new (old) lineup against The Lads on Wednesday.

This will be the first time these two teams have squared off since the qualifying round of last season, a game won by The Ride 64-42. It was a strong game for The Ride against admittedly inferior competition. The team was paced by Ned with 22 with Syed and Ad chipping in 18 & 14 respectively. The team was hot from outside as they overcame shooting 34% (10 of 29) from the field by firing a scorching 56% (10 of 18) from 3.

Syed led the defensive charge with a season high 7 steals, while BA and Holmes had 4 each. Mike also held down the boards with a team high 9 rebounds.

The previous matchup saw a preview of The Ride's new lineup as Brushey substituted in for Jer who was out with an ongoing FNI problem. Brushey provided little on the scoresheet (0 pts, 1 ast, 1 stl, 3 reb) but provides some much-needed chippiness while on-court.

This game should prove a relatively easy matchup for The Ride, and can be used as a practice session to work on some of their late-season offensive issues. A culture shift toward more ball sharing is necessary if The Ride is to advance deeper in the playoffs.

Prediction: The Ride 72, The Lads 38
